The ceremony was graced by Lt. Gen. Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General, NCC, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished Guests of Honour included Rear Admiral Ashish Bhargava, Maj. Gen. Vikas Bhardwaj, VSM, Maj. Gen. (Dr.) J. K. S. Parihar, SM, VSM & Bar, and Mr S. K. Sharma, National President of the Association of Industries & Institutions (AOII).
While the evening honoured achievers from diverse walks of life, it was the Closing Keynote and Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr Ujjwal Chugh that emerged as one of the most appreciated moments of the programme.
Speaking from both experience and conviction, Dr Chugh shared a powerful perspective on what truly defines an NCC cadet.
Drawing an inspiring parallel with the Mahabharata, he remarked that Arjuna is remembered not merely because he was the greatest archer, but because his extraordinary talent was guided by unwavering discipline, dedication, focus, and commitment. In the same way, he said, an NCC cadet is not recognised only for talent, but for the values that shape character—discipline, selfless service, leadership, patriotism, and an unwavering commitment to the nation.

The thought resonated deeply with everyone present. From senior defence officers and NCC leadership to awardees and alumni, the message received widespread appreciation for presenting the true essence of NCC in a way that was both timeless and relevant for today’s youth.
His address also reflected a larger truth.
The success of NCC cannot be measured only by the number of cadets in uniform. Its real legacy is visible in the lives of those who carry its values into every profession and every sphere of society.
This very thought was reflected throughout the NCC Achievers Awards 2026. The event celebrated doctors who heal, scientists who innovate, educators who shape young minds, journalists who uphold truth, legal professionals who strengthen justice, entrepreneurs who create opportunities, and leaders from numerous other fields—all united by a common spirit of service towards the nation.
Dr Chugh is consistently working to strengthen the youth of the country.
