Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 4:<\/strong> The World Is Carried Within \u2013 Eighteen Essays on the Natural World and the Working Life<\/em>, the latest book by\u00a0Manoj Mathew V M FIIHM, Senior Vice President \u2013 Operations, Tamara Leisure Experiences<\/strong>, was launched at a special event held at the Verandah Boutique Lounge, Tamara Leisure Experiences Headquarters, Bengaluru, on September 3, 2026.<\/p>\n

The book, which is\u00a0Volume I of The Third Eye Series<\/strong>, was inaugurated by\u00a0Mr S.D. Shibulal, Chairman, Tamara Leisure Experiences and Co-Founder, Infosys<\/strong>. The first copy was presented to\u00a0Ms Shruti Shibulal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The launch featured an engaging\u00a0in-conversation session between the author and Mr Ian\u00a0<\/strong>Faria<\/strong>, Mind Coach, Corporate Trainer and Leadership Consultant<\/strong>, exploring the experiences and reflections behind the book\u2019s 18 essays.\u00a0Mr Mahesh\u00a0<\/strong>Iyer<\/strong>, Principal & Founder of\u00a0<\/strong>Iyer<\/strong>\u00a0& Mahesh Architects and creator of The Tamara Coorg and The Tamara\u00a0<\/strong>Kodai<\/strong>, and\u00a0<\/strong>Dr.<\/strong>\u00a0Tapas Mukherjee, former Head of the Department of English, Government College,\u00a0<\/strong>Bori<\/strong>, District\u00a0<\/strong>Durg<\/strong>, Chhattisgarh, also addressed the gathering.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Where Nature Becomes a Lens for Understanding Life<\/strong><\/p>\n

The World Is Carried Within<\/em>\u00a0brings together\u00a018 literary essays<\/strong>, each beginning with an original wildlife photograph captured by Manoj Mathew across the forests of Coorg and\u00a0Nagarahole, the pilgrimage coast of\u00a0Gokarna, and the shoreline of\u00a0Bentota, Sri Lanka. The photographs serve as the starting point for reflections on nature, human behaviour, organisations, leadership and the inner life.<\/p>\n

Rather than presenting nature as a collection of lessons for leadership, the book allows observations from the natural world to lead naturally into questions about people and the working world. Encounters with creatures such as the Coorg snail, potter wasp, Oriental Magpie-Robin, Black Kite, Stork-billed Kingfisher and Indian Pond Heron become points of reflection on behaviour, intelligence, leadership and human experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not a nature book. It is not a leadership book. It is a book about seeing.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Four Decades of Leadership, A Different Way of Seeing<\/strong><\/p>\n

With a hospitality career spanning four decades across India, Zambia and Sri Lanka, including\u00a033 years with the Taj Group<\/strong>, Manoj Mathew brings to the book an operational perspective shaped by years of\u00a0observing people, organisations and behaviour. He currently serves as Senior Vice President \u2013 Operations at Tamara Leisure Experiences.<\/p>\n

The book moves through four thematic movements \u2014\u00a0The Forest, The Organisation, The Shore and The Opening<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 taking readers from close observation of the natural world to reflections on organisations, working life and the deeper questions of living and leading.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the book, Manoj Mathew said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI did not set out to write a book about leadership, and I did not set out to write a book about nature. I set out, as always, with a camera. The photographs came first, and what they showed was not always what I had seen. That is where the essays began.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Author\u2019s Fourth Book<\/strong><\/p>\n

The World Is Carried Within<\/em>\u00a0is Manoj Mathew\u2019s\u00a0fourth book<\/strong>\u00a0and follows his\u00a0Dead Reckoning<\/em>\u00a0trilogy \u2014\u00a0Journey Without Maps, Where the Map Ends,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Landfall<\/em>. Together, the books reflect his long engagement with leadership, hospitality, human behaviour and the experiences that shape working life.<\/p>\n

The book is published by\u00a0Quiet Compass Press<\/strong>\u00a0and features 18 essays accompanied by 18 original wildlife photographs. It is available as a standard trade paperback, along with a limited edition of 125 signed hardcover copies.<\/p>\n
